Pathology specimen by thoracoscopy showed malignant mesothelioma, epithelial type < calretinin(+) , AE1/AE3(+), EMA(+), CEA(-), BerEP4(-) >.He was born in rural area near Osaka city and had no family and environmental asbestos exposure. He had worked as a farmer from 1949 to 1951, as a weaver of wire netting company from 1951 to1966, as a waiter at coffee shop from 1966 to 1969, and as a manager of the stationery store from 1969 to 2002.He had no direct occupational asbestos exposure. There are sprayed asbestos (crocidolite ) at walls of 2nd floor where he had used as a warehouse of the stationery store. He have stayed at 2nd floor to deliver and take out and arrange goods for 1hours everyday and cleaned the floor once a month. The measurement of asbestos revealed 1.02-4.2f/L(2nd floor at rest) ,14.0f/L(delivery of goods),136.5f/L(cleaning), 0.34-1.13f/L(1st floor),ND(atmosphere out of stores).Minimum Limit of Determination is 0.15-0.4f/L.. His malignant mesothelioma was due to working at the stationary store with sprayed asbestos. |
